Food

Free Kitchen At Dashmesh Cultural Centre: The Calgary Sikh Community invites all flood victims, volunteers, emergency responders, etc. to come by and eat a hot Indian meal at the Sikh Gurdwara. Animal Care

Ongoing Community Fundraisers

Calgary-wide Art Project-Alberta Flood Rose Project: Calling all Calgary and Area Visual Artists to create and donate a 4”x4” original piece of art, depicting the Alberta Wild Rose.  The small pieces will be framed together in groups of 100 and these larger collaboration pieces will be auctioned off to the highest bidder at the end of August, with 100% of the proceeds going to the Red Cross. Finished pieces are due on or before July 26, 2013.  For details check out the project website:  www.thealbertafloodroseproject.com Posted Prior to July 1 in Community Initiatives.

Drop in the Bucket YYC Campaign:  Drop in the Bucket YYC is a grassroots campaign raising funds to help YYC flood victims rebuild their lives. Donate $1 (or more) and help raise $1.2 Million in Ikea gift cards for those who lost their furniture in the flood. Check out the Drop in the Bucket YYC  Facebook and Campaign sites for details. “Hell or High Water Stampede Shirts” from the Calgary Stampede’s online store. Foothills Flood Relief Musical Fundraiser: Come out an enjoy and evening of music and fun, with all proceeds going towards flood relief efforts in the Foothills. A wide variety of local musicians, from jazz to country, pop and rock will be performing throughout the evening. X92 Xposure winners Go For the Eyes have been confirmed! Silent auction items are pouring in, including a beautiful guitar (estimated value of $1500), signed merchandise from Sarah McLachlan, a CFR jacket and autographed photo from Denny Hay and more. Location: Ralph Klein Park, 6:00  - 11:00 pm.
